Industrial textiles

The manufacture of paper and paper pulp takes place in an aggressive chemical environment, where the wire in the paper machine and filter cloths are exposed to high mechanical stresses during mass production.

Filter media which are used during the washing and bleaching of cellulose are exposed to strong acids and bases. The dry wire in a paper machine is exposed to high humidity combined with high temperatures.

Textile factories which manufacture industrial textiles must therefore impose exacting requirements on the yarn - monofilament - which is used in materials which work where traditional materials would quickly break down. Plastic has the necessary properties:

  • Resistance to acids and bases
  • Tolerates high temperatures and steam
  • Low friction

Compared with other materials, plastic has a broader range of physical/technical properties and design flexibility along with better durability. Manufacturing plastic also takes less energy and plastic can be recycled.
Primo is an internationally renowned manufacturer of monofilament and is a problem-solver within industrial textiles, particularly those intended for aggressive environments. Thanks to Primo's broad range of production methods, such as profile extrusion, pultrusion and injection-moulding, we are able to offer our customers unique solutions at lower cost yet with greater efficiency.

Among other things, PRIMO supplies monofilament for the weaving of filters, wires, tape and hoses for use within the industry, particularly within the paper and pulp industry.

We are specialists in the manufacture of monofilament in PVDF and PP, which are resistant to heat.
