Pultrusion

Pultrusion is a moulding technique which is used to manufacture fibre-reinforced plastic profiles. The process is similar to extrusion but with pultrusion, the plastic product is drawn through the extrusion nozzle in continuous tracks, unlike extrusion, where the product is pushed through. This ensures that the fibre reinforcement does not break during the production process.

Putrusion can be used with many different plastic materials and fibre types.

The method is for example used to manufacture profiles for doorsteps, protective caps for live rails on underground railways, edge profiles, pipes, etc. where there is a need for extra strength.
